As far as I know they just crop up now and again when 2 cats carrying the longhair gene are mated together. Unless someone deliberatly wanted longhair kittens anyway. To be honest Ive never had much of an interest in them, Iam not a fan , I know of people using them for the Selkirks but not for BSH breeding, they would be on the reference reg anyway.

I certainly would not want to breed any longhairs deliberatly.
