I would get a smaller metal crate for travelling in the car. If he started to panic or get stressed he could chew or claw his way out of a canvass one. My 2 younger ones I would never put in a canvass cage. I did once going to ringcraft and arrived to find they had managed to undo the zip and were standing behind the tail gate but infront of the crate. Little sods. Also in a metal crate you would be able to see him and he would see you if you talked to him.
