I have had around 6 males castrated with no problems - the following day they were acting as if nothing had happened. The male can be fertile for 6 - 8 weeks following the operation, so keep him separated from the female. After the op he should not be given a sandbath for about a week.

I usually allow my females access to a bath about 5-7 days after giving birth, but only for around 5 minutes (I keep an eye on her to make sure no kits are squashed as she rolls around!)
