I was lucky that my dads friend sold me his 100 litre tank with a filter, light, matching stand and ornaments for £20. It cost me about £40 to get some essentials, gravel cleaning tube, magnetic glass cleaner, the fish themselves XD.

It's not a cheap thing to start off really, and it gets more expensive if you're testing your water is safe like I am XD.

I've had my tank for a few weeks now and I've spent over £100.

I completely know what you mean
I've had my tank for 8 months and I've probably spent nearly £800 or more on it. Luckily my mum was really nice to me and bout my tank and has paid for some of the extras, but the rest it's been all my own money. Costs a lot, but for me I think it's worth it lol.
