My Pops had a murmur from birth, although the breeders vet did not pick it up. She was the biggest in the litter and you would never know to look at her. She sadly only lived until she was 6 1/2 when she had a heart attack, but in those too few years, she was never ill, never had her quality of life compromised in anyway. She never showed any outward signs of having a heart problem at all, infact she was the only cat to leap from the scratcher to the arm of the sofa which was 6ft away.
Although Pops died young, I have also read a number of reports from owners who have been told what you have and their cat has lived well into their teens, so there is hope.

Thank you xx
