Most vets use rimadyl for pain relief I believe as dogs can be more sensitive then humans with abnomal bleeding etc!

The problem with both of these, is they take a few days to take effect
He has Metacam if the joint swells at all, but I don't want to give him too much at the mo, he is only 8 years and will be living on Metacam or similar for a lot of his later life
