FURminator - what a tool!!

Hi all,

Even though my Tigger is short haired he doesn't half leave a lot of hair everywhere so decided to get a Furminator.

Arrived this morning and have just finished using it on Tigger's coat - half of my cat is now in the bin

Thing is, the only place I could get him to sit still for long enough to be groomed is on the couch in the living room. Sooo, I had the bright idea of using an old tupperware bowl with water in it - kept putting the hair from the grooming tool in there and then swished around to stop it flying everywhere.

The water was filthy when I poured it away - had no idea a cat could get so dirty!! Eeeewwww!!

Does anyone know if you can overdo it with the Furminator? Because I noticed little silvery bits in the fur once it was wet (bit like a slug trail really) Just worried I did it for too long and started to take some of his skin with it??)

Sure he would have shown signs of pain though if that was the case?

Oh well, at least I can use that famous old line tonight when the OH says what have you been doing today? Brushing the cat
