I'm not a crate fan, I'd be more inclinded to try and wear him out before you go out and make sure you leave anything valuable out of his touch and LOADS of good chewy toys. I had a foster once that gnawed on anything and everything and I just went to the charity shop and stocked up on toys!!! I'm sure it's just a phase so fingers crossed he grows out of it!!
