Re: house training tips???

i believe housetraining just requires total dedication and discipline on the part of the human. Most pups cannot be classed as fully housetrained until 6-9 months.

You must always accompany your pup outside on waking, after meals, after play and when you return from leaving it. Then, dont let it back in until you have seen action.

You must always know when the last poo and wee was. It takes about a week to get into a routine. Then, you will start to trust the pup, and it will let you down. When caught in the act you can then not praise and remove pup and it will get the picture.

My pups werent housetrained when they left at 8 weeks but we had very few accidents as i knew their schedule and made sure i was outside. My current pup who is 4 months is totally reliable but i still accompany him outside so i know i am preventing him from letting himself down and am creating a ingrained habit.

So no real tips but just reduce the opportunity for them to make a mistake indoors but keeping on top of their routine. Sorry to rant!
