Regardless of my opinion on certain dog trainers' methods (particularly the ones with very very white teeth and a fondness for, shall we say FIRMER methods), I think that making the viewer feel inadequate is another fault with these programmes - even the ones which involve kind training methods.

They often don't stress enough that things take time. Remember the programme is edited to fit a half-hour or hour long slot; sorting any problem out or teaching a behaviour isn't achieved in the same amount of time in real life.
