Re: is this a good dog food?

When reading dog food labels you need to focus more on the list of ingredients first then typical analysis second. For example, the Protein source could be from Cereal / Grain or Soya which dogs find harder to digest and absorb than protein from say Chicken or Fish. This in turn over long periods of time can cause digestive problems. If the list reads 'Meat Derivatives'.....avoid at all costs as this could be absolutely anything from any animal that has been rejected for human consumption....i.e. guts, hair, teeth, horns, hoofs, diseased carcass , euthanased animals even wool...etc etc!!. If the food lists any kind of 'Flavourings', 'Emusifiers', or 'Preservatives' again avoid at all costs. These can in the long term cause liver & kidney problems even cancer. You really need to be looking to feed your pet on a quality, natural product. Look for quality protein sourced from human grade fish , meats or poultry. I could go on as this is a real passion of mine........................
