I is more than likly not fear but territory based. This is your 13 months old house and there is this little thing in it! also the 6 weeks old kitten is very young he is going to need alot of work as normally they dont leave mum until 8 weeks or more so she can train them.

it may be a case of slowly as the kitten gets older your older boy will calm down and they weill start to get on or sadly they may never do and you will just have to watch them when together these things Take alot of time just do things slowly and be patient and the two will progress at there own rate dont push them or it will backfire.
