We had a staffie cross who was the softest sweetest dog I've ever owned. I will gladly fuss a SBT and adore greyhounds.
In a way I'm quite glad that you feel like defending your breed, (I'm not glad that you should have to, if that makes sense) because a lot of sbt owners we meet on our walks, reign their dogs in and don't seem to want you to meet them. I'm never sure if thats because their dog is nervous or aggresive, or because they are fed up of peoples perception of them and therefore find it easier just to keep them away which is sad because it reinforces the perception of them.
So it's good that you take the time to talk to people and hopefully might change their preconcieved ideas.
