Most of mine are boosted every 15-18 months, I keep trying to get my vet to agree to a longer gap than that! Yearly boosters really aren't necessary but until the manufacturers change their recommendations, vets have to abide by them as far as possible. I don't think older cats (over 8 years or so) actually need any further boosters if they're indoor cats.
