We have always let the cats have full run of the house. And they do so love sleeping close to you. Most of our cats have slept on the landing as there is a hot water pipe that touches the floorboards making a hot spot. They have all managed to find it over the years
But later in the night, as it gets colder they will creep onto the bottom of the bed - the wife's side, as I'm 6"2 so my feet poke out the bottom
It's nice to be woken up with a head rub or a little paw patting your eyes. Not so nice at 5.30 on the weekend though!
