The kitten is more than happy to have a new friend to play with, sniffing around her a lot, "working her out" etc but the 2 year old hisses and claws at the kitten. Is there anything I can do to make things easier?
Reading other threads it seems to be existing cat not accepting a new cat but my problem is the other way round
Got the 2 year old on Sat 2nd May 09 so had her 3 days. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

We are having the same problem. Got Millie when she was 7 weeks old, she is now 9 months. Spayed 6th April. Got Lily, 2 years old on 16th April, spayed 7th April.
Millie was fine, but Lily hissed and growled. We put it down to her being frightened as she had been neglected and locked in a room for a year with no interaction with anything.
Things have improved in so much they will tolerate each other. They don't seemed threatened or scared of each other.
They keep chasing each other, really fast then pawing each other but it seems quite nasty. Lily does not hiss so much now. They will eat at the same time but now Millie seems constantly to torment Lily.
It will be 3 weeks on Thursday so still early days but vast improvement in alot of areas but still a long way to go before we have peace and harmony.
Millie is a moggy and Lily is a long haired persian so perhaps it may take a bit longer to be friends, not sure. Bloody hard work!!
