Hi - I think something like this happened to my cousin's cat as a kitten. He had to be put on a special diet (low ash, I think) and given a pill twice a day. It's been over 10 years now, and he's had very few, if any, incidents of blockage since. He's the only cat I know who will take pills really easily - just flip him on his back and he opens his mouth. Amazing. It might have to do with the fact that he is food obsessed (and overweight) and he knows he gets fed right after the pill. Good luck with your kitty!
