Thanks for the kind words guys. The vet gave him steroid and long acting pain killer injections and he's really perked up over the weekend. He's still painfully thin, but has been playing with Dexter a little and having lots of snuggles with us. Have to take him back in 3 weeks for an assesment.
Money would be no object for our Sam as he's insured. But i've decided I'm not going to put him through the op. He wouldn't understand, and it's dangerous for old cats to be under Anaesthetic for so long. The vet said it's 50/50 wether he'd come out the other side. I'm going to let Sam make the decision I think. We'll all know when the time comes. He's a clever old cat who was the undisputed boss of the street for most of his life. Punching well above his weight with the competition. Always made us smile to see the other cats scatter when sam went on patrol
