Advantix by Bayer is the best to use, it
does stop them attaching. When using monthly, my dog gets none attached - been using it over 2 years now. Before finding out about Advantix, I used Frontline and had the little buggers all round her neck. I have also noticed I get fewer on myself (these are the deer ticks, the ones that carry lyme disease).
