If another vet has said there was no need to wait 4 days, could you get them to confirm this in writing for you? I would consider making a complaint to the vets about delaying the operation for several days through no fault of yours has therefore incurred further costs you wouldnt have had to pay and ask as a guesture of goodwill if they can write these costs off.

I think thats a very good idea. I have no idea why they should have waited really, to leave a cat that needs an op in discomfort is just wrong, surely they could have got someone in from another surgery to do it if the person wasn't available at the right time? We were sent to a specialist surgery because my vets could not do the op and said he would have the best prognosis going to this hospital.
I hope there is some improvement today, its so awful to see them unwell!
