Re: Really poorly cat

This morning I was so happy. The vet called and although his condition hadn't improved it hadn't gotten any worse either. Things looked, in my opinion, better as he was awake and was sitting up. However, I got another call in the afternoon and Archie had taken a turn for the worse. I had to rush to the hospital straigh from work (two tubes, two trains and a cab) because the vet really thought they were losing him.

So, I have been to see him and he is in such a bad way. I think that he recognised me, but his heart rate went up a bit when I was talking to him so I realy didn't want to stress him out any more than he is already. His heart rate is around 240 beats per minute. I just don't know how long his little heart is going to hold out.

He is so beautiful and such a kind cat, and has so much life ahead of him, he's only four. I can't believe that we are going to lose him. The vet told me that he doesn't think that he will make it. I know that he has to be honest, but it's not easy to hear.

I am currently on the edge of passing out with sheer worry and fear. I am struggling to breathe. I am trying to think positive still, but it is so hard. I can't eat, I can't think, I can't even watch TV to take my mind off of my little Archie.

They are going to call again later, all I can do is hope and pray that his breathing has settled down a bit in the last couple of hours. I have never been so frightened in my life.
