Best complete food for overweight BC
Hi All,
I have 4 dogs 1 BC who is 6 who has always been a big dog but the last 6 months ive noticed him putting on quite a bit of weight yet he gets the same amount of exercise (3-4 walks a day, 1 x 2 hour road walks and 2-3 walks through the fields that back onto our house)
He does agility and is very active but is one of the calmer BC's as is very timid and is happy to run for hrs aswell as snuggle on sofa all evening!
My question is, Ive tried so many complete foods, im on pets at home own brand with all of the dogs which I was recommended to, but ive tried eukanuba, IAMS, Bakers, all sorts and I know there are worse dog foods out there, but im wondering if its the dog food i use thats making him getting weighty? I dont know why hes putting on weight, vet says hes on the heavy side and cant see his waist enough or feel his ribs?
Anyone got any advise? Im lost and worried hes only 5 and as he gets older and if he continues to be this heavy it wont help hips etc long term
