Re: lol he is a little devil!

Dry food -BAD Good quality wet food or raw - FANTASTIC.

I do have a small quantity of dry (JWB) down every day for mine asthey are use to it - but the great majority of the diet I feed them is the 60% meat stuff or raw. Bones clean teeth not sugar packed dry carbs that just shatter when crunched. Think about a cats diet in the wild - a bird is full of water, it is natural for a cat to get almost all it's water from its meat - it doesn't sit in a wheat field chewing corn and then go to the local watering hole for a pint of water!

Whiskas and Felix wet food are 4% thats 4% only meat. And most of that is 'reclaimed' or reconstituted. The cats eat the jelly and leave the rest cos they know what's good for them. Hi-life and naturesmenu are actually quite good value and I beleive tesco's finest is only £3.60 ish for a box of twelve. About the same price as felix - even Sheba, which is expensive, has 4-8% meat.

I honestly beleive that the rise I personally have seen in renal failure in cats is due to feeding dry. I can't remember it back in my youth when dry wasn't as popular and yet now a lot of my friends cats have real problems and they are all fed dry - those with healthy cats all seem to feed wet.

Well, that's me back off my soap box - sorry if I seemed to preach - upintila few years ago I also only fed dry and now I am vehermently against a solely dry diet. I realsie it is personal choice, but it is good to be informed in those choices.

Also on good quality foods poop no smell!
