It all depends on the breed of chameleon you go for, but even the 'easiest' (veiled) is difficult to look after. You need to read up, do research, and then do some more. We have a veiled and i constantly worry about him. Everything stresses them out, and they are so good at hiding how sick they are you have to be incredibly vigilant with them. But they are amazing creatures to own. Don't expect to handle them much though. They are an observational pet really.
