Lightbulb Yet Another Food Thread... in a good way!

Hey

Not asking for help, just sharing something I found

Indy and Misha decided they hated their Schmusy pouches so I grabbed some Tesco Luxury to tide me over til I could go Pets at Home etc... it says 50% fish on the box etc and at £3.90 for 12 pouches I thought I would give it a try

Got the Fish selection first

It is chunks of actual fish! like you get in a tin for human consumption, with a bit of jelly (crab jelly and shrimp jelly etc) and is fab, the pouches are only 85g but with that being actual 85g food not gravy/corn meal like a lot of foods the boys are happy at half a pouch each per day meal and a pouch each at night, down from a pouch each day meal and 1.5 at night (my cats get breakfast, tea and supper) so not only is it a fairly cheap food they are eating less!

The chicken selection looks a lot like potted meat/baby food where you actually have proper bits of meat again, in some jelly.

My boys have gone nuts for it and I feel good about the quality. The 50% doesn't seem to include the shrimp/crab/liver/whatever mixer... only the main 'meat/fish' and doesn't count the water content I think as there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of ingredients and no added grain products like maize.

Oh and a tip for raw feeders

I get all my raw foods down at my local market, the various butchers/fish mongers on there... I can get 40 chicken wings for £3, loads of offcuts/offal etc for pence per pound... especially if you go just before closing on a Saturday as they will throw a lot out since they aren't open on Sunday. Many Market butchers offer great quality meats at low prices for people, never mind the 'animal' cuts (the ugly bits of meat people don't like eating, just as nutritious though) I even buy human cuts or mince for the boys and Mabel too. One Butcher even gives me giblets for free
