Preparing for my first fall

Hullo,

I am just about starting to learn horse riding, yesterday I did climb on a horse for the first time in my life
We did a bit of trotting and today I have a little pain in my inner thighs and bottom, which I think will go away in a day or so.
I researched on the net and found that if you are gonna gallop and take your horse for a canter, then you will surely fall.

My question is, I have a slight ligament tear in my left knee. I am just imagining, if I did fall and my left foot got stuck in the stirrup then I am done. For I can imagine a complete twist of the leg, knee up. I am afraid this will snap off my ligaments too. May be I am just being a little over scary. But I thought I could ask for people's opinion here.

thanks in advance for your time spent on this.

cheers...
