I don’t think that keeping a queen in a kitten cage is a good idea either. This may be very stressful for her too and she will want to have enough space to walk around freely.
Female cats, especially entire ones, can be incredibly territorial and I think that they should have access to their own space and calm surroundings especially if you want to try to ensure that she has a safe and problem-free pregnancy and birth as is possible.

the only reason i got a kitten cage is that when she was last pregnant she would not go in the kitten room, if i shut the door she would ram it, so i felt this was not good so i got a kitten cage and put it up where all my cats are and she was fine, she came out when i was around and i knew she was safe when i was not around but as soon as she had kittens i moved her into kitten room and she settled with them, so i don't think she likes to be alone.
