Ours does the same! It is so annoying! We tend 2 mush it up at the moment so he has no choice!
He also will eat one brand of food(different flavours) for one pack of pouches then when you buy a 2nd box he won't eat it! The cats at work end up with it.
I'll be interested to hear what people say, might help out here
