This is a good advice, especially as your dog seems to be of "rebellious" age (8-9 months, isn`t it?). And you could try a prong (or "strict") collar. You`ll have to be very careful trying that, because some dogs are scared of such collars, but I think that should not be the case with your dog, for Beagles are "persons of firm character", AFAIK.
