Chance is on a distinguished road
Damaged pads

Chance is sat in her bed and appears in a grump. She has had the weekend at the kennels and when I came home (o/h collected her) she was in great spirits. We went out for a run and she kept up as usual. I thought her grump was that she wasn't too pleased with me for kenneling her!!!!

Just now I've tried to stroke her and she was distant with me and just licked her paws. On closer inspection I saw her carpal pads are both injured. The left one is 'grazed' and the right is actually split.

Bit worried whether she has done this whilst out running (Stopping quickly etc) or if it is as a result of jumping at the rails in the kennels?

I'm going to clean them with salty water and keep her on cleaner walks for the next few days but is there anything else I should know or do?

Is it necessary to visit the vet for this?
