Ok I don't really have experience with this, but I would say as he has lost a fair bit of weight then yes take over from mum. Although saying that mums milk is best as it contains antibodies, so if it were me I would keep on with the hand feeding but still try to get him on mum. Hopefully with the hand feeding, he will build strength & be able to feed from his mummy!
