If she is entire, and screaming day and night, she is probably calling. They can go off their food when they call as they only have one thing on their mind - MEN 
If you are feeding alot of dry biscuits then you probably will see a steady weight gain, especially if she has low activity levels at the same time. 100gm weight gain is roughly equivalent to the weight of a new born kitten.
