Re: Ferrets.

thankyou very much. well we got two ginger hobs today from a man nearby at a tenner each and they were born march last year. they are very small for their age and one is even smaller than the other, but by no means baby size.
Very cute, and handleable, but a few nips.
They poop everywhere! very water too. hope thats ok.
We havnt introduced them to the cats yet and im very nervous. we thought they could sleep in and be introduced to the cats in the huge cat carrier we have and the cats could see them through the bars, but the smallest ferret can fit through one of the bigger holes in the door of it, so we had to put cardboard on the inside of the door, so now although the cats can smell them and know theres something moving they cant see each other like we planned. may have to wait till thursday till we can get some other sort of small cage type thing. only want something cheap thatll work and wont take up much room just for that.
in this situation how would you introduce yours?
How would you stop the attack if one did happen between the cats and ferrets during intros? we were gonna take a ferret and a cat and let them meet each other, then bring the other ferret out to the same cat after a while and then do the same with the other one.
they are asleep in the cat carrier at mo, and thinking they will be all night after the drive here and the exploring etc.
they have settled in quite nicely already, and have been stealing loads of the cats dry food out of their bowls and drinking lotsa water (and milk-but wont give them that again as I was later told they can only have cat milk, if any).
so after loadsa drink they should be ok to sleep now shouldnt they in there?
