Clicker training has alot of useful information in it, most of the trick is in the timing

this can be quite difficult to get sometimes so seeing a trainer is most useful imo, they can show you exactly when to click and treat etc, also show you how to "shape" behaviours using the clicker and impecable timing.
I saw a lovely lady in my area for training and buster thrived on it

He is very stubborn and much more likely to do something if he
thinks it was his idea lol, much like the OH
edit: as said above, conditioning your dog to the click = good is very important, so the dog knows exactly what it means and isnt just to grab the dogs attention.
