I agree that rescue may be the way to go. Have you included the cost of insurance? as vet fees are expensive and you could find you need to find much more than £150 - please do get insurance. In addition, have you thought of neutering costs as these could easily be around £150. If you get an older rescue, you may well find them already neutered, or you may get help with the neutering costs.
