re: want to breed a dog

Health tests for labradors are:

Hip score
Elbow score
Eye tests (done annually)
Optigen test
CMN test

Personally, I would only expect any deterioration in hips at 3 years old if there was a problem, and if there is a problem he shouldn't be bred from anyway. As Tashi says, as you are providing a stud 'service' and bitch owners will expect you to help and advice them, you need extensive knowledge of breeding and how to recognise the bitch is ready.

PS - What breeding is your dog?
