cat flap or no cat flap that is the question

Hi

OK so who has a cat flap and can recomend them and who has decided not to put one and gets on ok without one. Bottom line is it will cost £150 to get a cat flap put in as we only have full length glass doors at the back of the house - there is nowhere else for it to go at all.
So at the moment we have to keep opening and closing doors to let them in/out which can be a bit tiresome. However the price and stories of other cats getting in has put us off the cat flap idea. The problem with our technique is that we go away for a weekend then they can't go out unless someone comes in and lets them out. But on the other hand we don't have the worry of other cats getting in. I know you can get magnetic cat flaps that go with the collars - not sure I want the cats to have collars though.
Also with no flap they have to have the litter tray indoors and would be good to get it out of the kitchen eventually.

Cheers
