If you don't know her history she may of been mistreated by a man in the past. And now she has settled in maybe suppressed behaviours are coming out.
I would get your OH to feed, walk etc as much as possible to build trust.

Must add that I'm only a pet owner not a behaviourist - So I would definately speak to an expert, did she come from a rescue could you speak to them for some advice?
