Will cat insurance cover a problam that is already there if you have no cat insurance

...i have no cat insurance, but my cat has a lump that he needs removed, he has been seen by a vet, the lump has been tested and appartently its fat (he is a bit overweight). The lump has got a bit bigger and is possibly painful so i would like to have it removed. If i get pet insurance - will it cover the cost of the operation?

Many thanks.
