a 3 foot with a good internal(a juwel maybe) or a large fluval/interpet internal will be fine with the 2 fish as long as you dont mind doing regular water changes(10% a week with a gravel cleaner) could prob get away with a 2.5ft tank if good filtration. I work at an aquatics place and people put them in smaller tanks than that
