Change in behaviour

Hi

I don't know if anyone can help, I'm more a dog person (owned by 5 of the blighters!!) but I do have my beautiful big black cat Herbert and he's making me worry a little. He's only just over a year old, and he's always been an out door boy. He's a proper hunter and I usually catch sight of him once or twice a day and if I'm lucky he'll come for a quick 10 minute cuddle then he's off! Pretty much every night he'd bring home some dead body (which is always a pleasure).
The last week or so he's been pretty much staying in constantly and doesn't seem to be eating a huge amount. I've changed his food to see if that helped and it did for a bit but he just seems very lazy and unlike himself. He's a very large cat and I'm convienced he's getting food elsewhere but I'm worried with this change of character being something other than just the sudden cold weather we are having.

Does anyone have any clues? Obviously I'm more than happy to take him to the vets if need be but thought someone with more cat experience might be able to shed some light?
