My persian is almost identical to Madcat's - I use a different brush on different days - he loves being brushed so it makes things easy but by doing the different brushes on different days I get extra fur off somehow and spend the same amount of time. He is a bit sensitive in the back legs to grooming but otherwise a cinch.

I call them cling-ons!! Usually it's not too bad as long as you keep on top of the grooming and trimming - if you spot a cling-on and can get it then and there it will save you a world of issues
