Re: An urgent plea to ANYBODY considering to breed from their dog. Breeder or non bre

Hi
I felt i wanted to respond to this view also. I have spent a long time researching my breed and put a lot of thought and time into preparing to breed. Whilst i am not going to respond to the comment about stop breeding and rescue i think that is too simplistic i do want to comment on something i have found.
Since researching breeding and indeed my girl is now pregnant i have been on many forums and read a lot of books. In fact i am an info junky, doesnt this make me a responsible breeder as i am fully equipped for the work ahead.
Anyway to my point, so many of these forums make breeding into such a negative. I felt uncomfortable saying i am breeding my dog although all my reasons are legitimate and i have the breed and my girls best interests at the forefront. If you ask a question on many forums all you get back is if you need to ask you shouldnt be breeding, get your dog speyed. This doesnt help responsible breeding and in fact pushes it to back street style where people are afraid to ask so just go with it and this surely is more irrisponsible.

Well that is just my experience to date and this and champdogs have been the only positive useful boards and i hope this thread doesnt go down the same route that we are all bad, irrisponsible people cause i know that is not true and for the sake of the continuation of our breeds responsible breeding must continue and everyone breeds for the first time once.

on the subject of rescue dogs i have had one and he was beautiful and many other people will too and great respect to you all whatever you choose to home.
