If on the other hand there is a valid medical reason and the vet says that there isn't much they can do then that is the only time to have a cat put to sleep.
If I had my cats that I have owned over the years and cats that I have fostered put to sleep every time one bit me then there would be alot of them dead and buried rather then them being in great loving homes now.

of course the cat was checked over my Mum loved that cat like her own child, the vet said she was dangerous and that it was inevitable.
