Re: Broken foot
I've had a couple of frights in my time too. On two occasions last summer cats jumped out of an upstairs window. The first to make the leap was an eleven week old kitten - I saw him sitting on the windowsill miaowing at me (I was in the garden) but it never occurred to me that he would actually jump out, until he did. That was a bit of a shock I can tell you, but the second was worse - a queen seven weeks pregnant and carrying seven kittens did exactly the same thing. Now that was frightening! The window has been permanetly closed since then!
And then about ten years ago, when I lived in a remote part of Wales where it as 1/4 mile of farm track between my house and the road, I drove off once with a cat on the roof of the car. I didn't realise until the cat jumped off, and by that time (it being a steep downhill road to the village, straight and with excellent visibility, and rather fun to drive down fast) I was doing 60mph. The cat jumped onto the bonnet and straight off into the hedgerow and ran off across the fields. That was even more frightening!
In all cases the cats were absolutely fine, it was me suffering from shock!
