I agree I grew up with a toy poodle who I would not have trusted with a young child for a second after 18yrs she was put to sleep due to ill health and I got a staffya few months later within 6 months I was pregnant and was told the dog would have to go as would the cats as the baby would get bitten scratched or smothered poppycock my daughter loved those animals as much as I did and the dog protected Kasi to the day she died Kasi regularly fell asleep in the bed with the dog wether the dog had pups or not Kasi used to chew on the dogs ear when she was teething the dog just laid there the dog also used to walk beside when Kasi started walking first and lay in front the sofa so Kasi could use her as a leg up from the day Kasi came home with me Ember slept under her cot then beside her bed as did her pups who she tolerated Kasi moving about from the day they were born which ment they were very used to being handled by the very young my daughter was never bitten by our dogs but she was bitten whilst out walking ours she put her hand out to our dog when the other dog was there it knocked her over and bit her ember went beserk and did substantial damage to the other dog that was off on a walk by itself
