ive had the same problem with my puppy who is now 8 months old, i asked for advice on this forum it was very helpful. i found the best way to stop cassie was to ignore her when visitors came round or when she is excited and only fuss her after about 15 mins to give her time to calm down she still does it sometime but is getting better the older she gets
