Re: Noisey puppies!!

i second what bredakim has said, this is what we did when we had a litter, also we found the pups made more noise as they got older as they didn't like being confined.
we had them in the kitchen and we penned them into one half of it behind a board that was too high for them to escape from but low enough for mum to go into to feed them occasionally, we thought this would also make it easier for us to clean up after them but by 5 weeks they were walking in the mess (i did have the puppy training pads down too) as they were bigger and taking up more space, they cried and cried to get out to us so we pulled the divider down, once they had the run of the kitchen they were a lot happier and quieter and it was actually easier to mop up 2 or 3 smaller puddles or deposits than cleaning up one big mess, we also then opened the back door so they could go out to do their business and they were all going out into the garden to do their business by about 6 weeks. feeding time was better this way too as they saw us preparing their meal and they used to sit in a line behind whoever was preparing their dinner at the sink and wait and then they would trot behind us to the other side of the kitchen or out into the garden for their food rather than knocking it out of our hands as we tried to put it down amongst them in the pen, by the time they left us they were more or less toilet trained and quite laid back. loved having them, shame we couldn't keep them all.
