Re: The DLRC have started a petition

So apart from printing off fancy pedigrees, having a code of ethics which is unenforceable and conning the unsuspecting people out there, what do they actually do ?
Well, they enable pet breeders and puppy farmers to charge on average, several hundred pounds extra per puppy.....

The really sad thing is that owners don't realise, and breeders say it doesn't matter they're only pets, but very often a new owner can become so enthralled with their new pet, that they decide they want to start showing or competing and then find their registration is n't worth the paper it's written on most of the time, this has not been pointed out to them by the breeder.

I had a call from someone only last week wanting information on training for gundog work, joining clubs and eventually competing. When is was revealed that the puppy was DLRC registered I had to explain that they wouldn't be able to - they need a kc registered dog to do it. None of this had been explained by the breeder.

Also to add there is no conformation from the studs owners confirming a mating has taken place, unlike the KC where forms have to be signed by both owners.
Absolutely agree - actually, I could write a pedigree now.... let's see.... what about Sire: Scooby Doo Dam: Lassie
That'll do.... now I just need to pay DLRC my money.... and make them a nice profit... paper's not that expensive.
