I am not a vet, and he may well have spotted something else, but a kitten with no runs, eating - OK not a great deal but eating (hopefully the special diet he gave you was a wet food!), drinking and only having been sick 4 times in the last 5 days, is not going to be dehydrated  Maybe the vet has been thrown a bit because he is a meezer and he is not used to their body types
Well hopefully this is the end of it for you. You can pick him up tomorrow and he will be OK, no more sickness. Once he gets back to eating properly he will make up that 30gms no problem and then some.
